Hello! I'm Isabel Chen, currently a second year at University of California, Berkeley studying Economics and Data Science. My academic journey has been driven by my passion for understanding economic patterns and leveraging data to derive meaningful insights.
I grew up in Frederick, Maryland and I developed an early interest in economics when I was in high school. I really love the application of economics to improve policies and industries and how data science can be used to enhance research.
When I'm not analyzing data or studying economic theories, you can find me reading, watching movies, or discovering a new hobby.
My favorite aspects of economics include econometrics, macroeconomic policy, and financial economics. I fell in love with economics when I was in high school during my AP Macroeconomics class. My teacher was amazing and made me really love economics in the end.
In data science, I'm drawn to specific aspects like machine learning, data visualization, statistical modeling, etc. I love how data science has that interconnection with economics and how it can be used to study eocnomic theories and policies. Data science is such an amazing tool that can be used to enhance an aspect or field.
In my free time I love to hangout with my friends and my club. I love to get lunch or coffee, occasionally some concerts. Some of my favorites include club retreats and concerts!
I also love going to concerts whenever I have the time! I love listening to music and watching my favorite artists live. Here are some of my favorite concerts when I'm not studying.
I am a huge foodie and one of my favorite things to do with friends and family is trying new cafes and restaurants. Here are the highlights of my favorite meals and restuarants!
I have two adorable cats named Pluto and Daisy!
I'm always open to discussing new projects, opportunities, or just having a conversation about economics, data science, or any of my interests. Feel free to reach out!
